James Morris

Finance Director

James leads the finance function at Co-op Legal Services, providing a full suite of services across finance operations, financial control and commercial finance.

James is passionate about making the finances of a business simple, breaking down complexity to help everyone understand the levers of financial success.

Alongside Finance, James also leads the Operations and Risk & Compliance functions.

James is a board member of Co-operative Legal Services Ltd and holds the authorised position of Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration (COFA), responsible for ensuring the firm’s compliance with the SRA’s accounts rules.

Professional memberships

James graduated with a first class honours degree in Business Administration in 2002 and qualified as a Chartered Management Accountant in 2004.

Career history

James has spent the majority of his career in the financial services sector where he held a number of senior finance positions at AXA and Standard Life, most recently as Head of Finance at Elevate, a pensions and investments platform business with over £14bn of assets under management.

When not working

James has 2 young children who keep him pretty busy outside of work, but when he gets the opportunity he enjoys trail running and various sports.
