Co-op Legal Services was recognised by Remember A Charity as the first corporate organisation to raise £15m in potential gifts to charities through the Wills written for its customers.
This followed a parliamentary inquiry into charitable giving, which recommended legacy gifts as a vital route to boost charity funds. As part of proactive activity to increase consumer awareness of charitable giving in Wills, Co-op Legal Services has partnered with legacy fundraising campaign Remember A Charity since 2012.
Through this partnership, Co-op Legal Services has shared tried and tested methods with both Remember A Charity and the Cabinet Office, helping to evidence the view that proactivity directly prompts an increase in donations pledged to charity made through Will writing.
