Structure and executive management team

At Co-op Legal Services, we believe that combining the skills of experienced solicitors along with leading business managers will ensure our clients receive the very best client service possible. Co-op Legal Services became the first Alternative Business Structure (ABS) in the UK in 2012.

The Legal Services Act (2007) enabled legal businesses, including law firms, to put in place Alternative Business Structures and seek alternative forms of investment. For the first time, it allowed law firms to be owned and managed by experienced business managers rather than just by solicitors.

The Executive Management Team is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the business. It is also responsible for setting the business strategy and ensuring that it achieves its business objectives and financial targets. In managing the business, the management team focuses on four core areas:

  • Financial performance
  • Customer service and delivery
  • Operational efficiency
  • People management
