Structure and executive management team

The Legal Services Act (2007) enable legal businesses including law firms to put in place Alternative Business Structures and seek alternative forms of investment. For the first time, it allowed law firms to be owned and managed by experienced business managers rather than just by Solicitors.

Co-op Legal Services recognised the benefits such a structure could offer to its members and clients and became the first Alternative Business Structure (ABS) in the UK in 2012. It believes that combining the skills of experienced Solicitors along with leading business managers will ensure that its clients receive the very best client service possible.

The Executive Management Team is responsible for the smooth day to day running of the business. It is also responsible for setting the business strategy and ensuring that it achieves its business objectives and financial targets. In managing the business, the management team focuses on four core areas:

  • Financial Performance
  • Customer Service and Delivery
  • Operational Efficiency
  • People Management
