Associate Family Law Solicitor, Manchester
Niamh is an Associate Solicitor in the Family Law team at Co-op Legal Services, based in Manchester.
Niamh has experience dealing with a wide range of Family Law issues, including divorce, matrimonial finances, and children matters. She has particular expertise advising on complex financial remedy matters, including those that involve businesses, property portfolios, and overseas assets. Niamh also has experience advising clients in relation to cohabitation, separation, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Niamh understands that the period following a relationship breakdown can be highly stressful and difficult, and she is passionate about providing advice that is both sensitive and practical. She adopts a proactive, tailored approach to every matter to ensure that each client achieves the best possible outcome.
Niamh has successfully acted for clients in a range of financial remedy matters. In one such case, she represented a client in proceedings that involved significant business interests, pensions, and overseas assets. Niamh worked to obtain expert evidence from actuaries and international accounts and, despite some efforts by the other party to avoid disclosure of assets, she was able to secure a very positive final outcome for her client. This enabled the client to move on with full independence and certainty.
Niamh has also successfully acted for clients in children matters, including applications for Child Arrangement, Specific Issue, and Prohibited Steps Orders. She previously represented a father in proceedings in which the mother made a number of allegations and frequently prevented his contact with the children. Throughout the proceedings, Niamh acted robustly and proactively to ensure that contact could be restarted and to challenge the allegations made, ultimately leading to a 50/50 shared care arrangement that allowed the father more time with the children and gave greater stability to all involved.
Niamh is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and a member of the Law Society.
When she is not working, Niamh enjoys going to see live music and reading. She also spends time watching her local football team, although this is not always as enjoyable.
