Amy Taylor-Deacon

Associate Family Law Solicitor, Stratford-Upon-Avon

Amy is an Associate Family Law Solicitor in the Family Law team at Co-op Legal Services based in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Amy qualified as a solicitor in 2025 but has over four years of experience working in family law assisting and advising clients in a wide range of matters, including divorce and separation, financial remedy, child arrangements, public law children disputes, pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements and disputes.

Amy understands that family disputes are incredibly difficult and stressful to navigate and is committed to approaching these matters with sensitivity and empathy. Amy recognises the importance of building trusting relationships with clients to ensure their needs are understood and advice is tailored to suit these needs in a way that is easy to understand.

Amy appreciates that family disputes can be timely and costly, especially if court proceedings are involved. Amy is committed to encouraging and supporting clients in exploring alternate dispute resolution options, such as mediation, where appropriate, and will confidently negotiate on behalf of her clients to ensure best efforts are made to reach collaborative resolution without the need for litigation.

Where court proceedings are required, Amy is committed to ensuring clients receive constructive, clear advice to minimise the stress associated with such proceedings.

Career history

Amy is an alumnus of The University of Exeter with a 2:1 Honors LLB Degree and an alumnus of the University of Law having obtained a Masters of Law and Legal Practice Course Graduate Diploma at Distinction level. Amy has largely focussed on the study and research of family law, most recently producing a research paper on the laws of surrogacy in England and Wales, forming part of her Masters of Law.

Amy completed her two-year training contract with a regional firm in Cornwall, having worked as a paralegal in family law for the same firm following her undergraduate degree.

Since joining Co-op Legal Services in November 2025, Amy looks forward to supporting her clients in navigating and resolving their matters.

Amy is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and a member of the Law Society.

When not working

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her partner and visiting family and friends. Amy can often be found attempting a new bake or reading a novel.
