Tim Burt is a Senior Solicitor dealing with Contentious Probate at Co-op Legal Services based in Bristol.

Tim specialises in Contentious Probate and also deals with Estates in which there are contentious issues. Although Tim thrives on a challenge, he is a strong supporter of Mediation and trying to find a pragmatic and cost effective solution to disputes.

Career history

Tim qualified as a Solicitor in 1990 after studying law at Southampton University and joined Co-op Legal Services in 2011.

Tim spent the first 14 years of his career as a litigator at Pinsents (now Pinsent Masons) in Birmingham specialising in defendant Professional Negligence Litigation including dealing with many claims involving Administration of Estates, Trust and Tax issues.

In 2004, he joined a law firm in Worcester where he was a Partner and Head of Probate undertaking a mixture of Contentious Probate and private client work relating to Estates and Trusts.

Since 2017, Tim has set up and managed the contentious probate team at Co-op Legal Services, which has grown to a team of about 10 solicitors and paralegals.
