Laura is an Assistant Litigation Executive at Co-op Legal Services specialising in serious injury claims.

Laura has experience in dealing with a wide range of personal injury claims, representing clients with serious orthopaedic injuries, chronic pain and psychological injuries and sensory injuries.

She also has experience as a Team Leader in our MoJ team, coaching, mentoring and developing a team of case handlers dealing with road traffic accident claims.

Laura now sits within the Serious Injury Team, where she has further developed her personal injury knowledge and continued her commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Case studies

Laura successfully represented a client who was involved in a road traffic accident, in which the defendant collided with the rear of her slow-moving vehicle. The client suffered soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulders and back and in addition, she developed a stammer. This stammer had a significant impact on her everyday life as her job involved speaking with customers over the phone, which she could no longer do. The stammer then developed into Tourette’s. This was diagnosed as Functional Neurological Symptom Disorder. She subsequently lost her job as she was unable to continue in her customer-facing role.

We secured compensation for the client in the sum of £25,000 to reflect her injuries and losses, to include a sum to reflect the fact that she had needed support at home with domestic chores and childcare, plus a sum to reflect her past and future loss of earnings as a result of her injuries.

Career history

Laura studied History (BA Hons) at Newcastle University before completing her legal education in Bristol.

Laura joined Co-op Legal Services in 2008. Following her initial 6 years as a Senior Legal Assistant, she was promoted to an Assistant Team Leader and later to a Team Leader within the MOJ Department in which she coached, mentored and developed a team of case handlers dealing with road traffic accident claims.

After gaining managerial experience, Laura moved into the serious injury team where she could develop her personal injury knowledge further and continue her commitment to providing excellent customer service. Since then, she has represented clients in road traffic accident, employers liability and public liability claims. She has also assisted in high value cases and fatal accident claims.
