Years of experience

Andrew McVerry is a Senior Personal Injury Solicitor and Team Leader at Co-op Legal Services in Manchester.

Andrew works in the Fast Track Claims team and has considerable experience of dealing with a wide range of accident claims across England and Wales.

Andrew has particular experience in personal injury claims in which liability is disputed. He particularly enjoys helping clients in this area, because for many people claiming compensation, getting the Defendant (the person or party at fault) to acknowledge responsibility for the accident can be more important than the amount of compensation received.

Andrew's personal injury team has been recognised in the Legal 500 2026 Directory, a first-time achievement that reflects the team’s dedication and expertise.

Career history

Andrew studied Law (LLB Hons) at John Moores University, and in 2003 completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester.

He has worked in Personal Injury since getting an administration role in a small law firm in Altrincham. From there he moved to a mid-sized firm in Manchester where he progressed through a training contract to become a Team Leader. He joined Co-op Legal Services in May 2016.

When not working

Andrew has two young children who take up most of his time. When he's able, he enjoys listening to music and attending gigs, watching and playing football as well as cycling.

Notable cases

  • Andrew successfully recovered over £60,000 compensation, including a substantial loss of earnings payment, for a 55 year old gym instructor. She was injured in an accident, as a result of which she was no longer able to continue taking classes at the gym. The Defendants had argued that her age was a barrier to successfully recovering compensation for her loss of future earnings.

  • Andrew successfully recovered over £200,000 compensation for a client who lived in rural Wales. She had to get taxis for the rest of her life as a result of an accident in which her eyesight was damaged, meaning that she could not see below a certain point and the DVLA revoked her driving licence.

  • Andrew successfully recovered £450,000 compensation for a 24 year old policewoman who sustained ankle injuries in an accident at work. Because of her injuries she could no longer work as a policewoman and has to wear orthotics in her shoes for the rest of her life.
