Lydia Durkin is a Trainee Solicitor currently in her first seat within the Probate department at Co-op Legal Services, based in Manchester. Prior to commencing her training contract, Lydia joined the Co-op as a Legal Assistant within the Probate department and continues to gain experience in managing her own caseload from initial notification of death through to completion.
Throughout Lydia’s journey to become a Trainee Solicitor, she has gained a variety of experience within the legal profession having previously worked within Commercial Law (both litigation and property) and Motor Law.
Lydia is very much a people person. She greatly enjoys the interaction she has with her clients and having the ability to relieve some of the emotional strain placed on them following a bereavement.
Lydia is looking forward to gaining additional experience within other areas of law throughout her training contract and the various challenges each different seat will bring.
Lydia graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2015, having also completed an Erasmus work placement at the University of Malaga during the summer of 2014 where she worked as a Legal Research Assistant.
Lydia then worked full time at a multinational law firm whilst completing her Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University in Liverpool. Lydia joined Co-op Legal Services in 2017 where she worked as a Legal Assistant within the Probate department for six months prior to starting her training contract in April 2018.
