Jennifer Goda, TEP is a Senior Probate Solicitor and the Legal Standards Principal for the Probate department at Co-op Legal Services based in Bristol.
Jennifer is also the Supervising Solicitor in the Probate department and manages the legal development and career progression of all legal and support staff. She is responsible for the efficient, risk-managed progression of Probate and Estate Administration cases through the department and is noted for her quick resolution of complex legal technical problems.
Jennifer is a respected Senior Probate Solicitor with many years’ experience practising in the Southwest of England, she is an accredited member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with inheritance and succession.
Jennifer has a background in managing a wide range of Probate matters, including complex Will construction and validity issues, mitigation of Inheritance Tax (IHT), calculating and providing advice on capital gains tax and completing income tax returns. She has administered a variety of different Trusts, investigated complex Intestacies and dealt with a number of unusual Court applications.
In addition to her Probate case work, Jennifer deals with detailed estate planning matters including Will writing, and has also worked with the Court of Protection.
Jennifer is heavily involved in training within the Probate department, developing members of staff at all levels from Probate Advisors to our highly experienced team of Probate Solicitors.
Jennifer is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), and receives excellent feedback from delegates and management alike for her engaging and professional legal training sessions.

Jennifer studied language at Bristol University then law at the University of the West of England. She worked in the legal department of a finance company then went on to qualify as a Solicitor in a Bristol-based law firm. She joined The Co-op Group in 2008 just after the birth of its Legal Services business, and in 2014 became the Legal Standards Principal in Probate, shaping a highly customer-centric, successful department.
When Not Working
Jennifer enjoys spending time with her son, travelling, reading and playing piano.
