Benefits of our Probate Complete Service include:
1. Authorised and Regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA)
Probate Estate Administration in England and Wales is not a reserved legal activity which means that unregulated providers can offer Probate Estate Administration services regardless of whether they are insured, experienced or qualified to provide a full Probate service.
Co-op Legal Services is a trading name for Co-operative Legal Services Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, giving you peace of mind knowing that your Probate affairs are being dealt with by a regulated organisation and by a brand name you know and can trust.
2. Probate Experience
We deal with over £500 million in estates every year and many of our Probate Case Handlers are members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, so you can be assured of our expertise in looking after your probate case. The regional, cultural and sociological differences in our probate customer base means that we deal with much more diverse and complex probate issues than perhaps a high-street law firm.
In addition, we spend our entire time working on probate cases rather than any other legal work, as a high-street Solicitor might, meaning that our experience is 100% specific to probate.
3. Quality of Probate Advice
We assist around 100,000 families with bereavement services across England and Wales every year, and through this, we understand the many questions that people might have at this confusing and distressing time. Our on-going probate training and research ensures that we can provide clear and comprehensive advice, guidance and support.
4. Face to Face Consultation
One of our Probate Consultants can meet customers face to face at their home or a location of their choice (in England or Wales) to discuss the estate administration. For many people, it’s easier, and often feels friendlier, when discussing the loss of a loved one, to remain in a familiar environment where they are comfortable.
5. Easy to Contact
Our Probate Solicitors, Advisors, Consultants and Case Handlers are all strongly focused on customer care, and providing a service through which the customer feels treated as if they were a member of our own family. We provide each customer with a Probate Case Handler who is easy to contact, and we will provide regular updates and respond to customer communications in a timely manner.
6. Local Probate Experts
Our Probate Consultants are based across England and Wales and each has a personal understanding of their local area and culture. The probate case work is carried out at our central offices, and there is no need for the customer to visit our offices as the entire process is handled through communications of the customers’ choice, including post, telephone, email or text messages.
7. Established Relationship
We pride ourselves on providing a comprehensive probate service from start to finish. Our Probate Advisors, who take the initial details, work closely with our Probate Consultants, sharing the relevant information, and one designated Probate Case Handler will deal with the probate and the estate administration, meaning there is always one point of contact for the customer throughout the complete process.
8. Co-op Values
We are part of the world’s largest consumer co-operative, valuing above all else openness, honesty, social responsibility and caring for others. Co-op Legal Services are one of the largest providers of probate and estate administration services in England and Wales and are focused on providing an excellent service to mirror the values of the Co-op Group.
9. Fixed Fee Probate Service
We offer a fixed Probate fee upfront so the customer knows exactly how much the costs are from the outset, plus disbursement costs. A clear breakdown of Probate services and fees is provided, and there are no hidden costs. Our probate fees are not charged on an hourly basis.
10. Benefits for Co-op Funeralcare Customers
For Co-op Funeralcare customers we will refund any deposit paid and settle the outstanding funeral bill, provided there are sufficient funds in the estate to pay our probate fees and the funeral invoice at a later date.
11. Case Progression
Our Probate Case Handlers work efficiently to finalise probate cases as soon as they can. This provides closure for bereaved friends and family at the earliest possible opportunity.
12. We are Insured
Co-op Legal Services are insured with insurance covering all of our work plus we have protection of client funds under the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).
