By Senior Personal Injury Solicitor James Wormell
Mr. T was knocked off his bicycle when he was hit by a car in a road accident. He suffered extensive personal injuries to his legs, including a shattered right hip socket, compound fractures of his left tibia and fibula and psychological injuries including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression as a result of the accident.
How We Helped
Personal Injury Solicitor James Wormell, contacted the car driver's insurance company which then alleged that Mr. T was partly responsible for the accident.
James successfully negotiated a joint instruction of an initial needs assessment and funding for a focused rehabilitation programme.
Following four medical reports, the medical experts commented that Mr. T's cycling accident injuries were extremely serious and that his injuries were life changing. As a result of the accident, Mr. T would suffer from complications now and in the future and his injuries would affect his future career opportunities.
The rehabilitation treatments arranged for Mr. T included physiotherapy, neurophysiotherapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). The rehabilitation treatment provider also assessed Mr. T's needs at work, to see how he could be supported in his recovery, with adaptations being made to help get him back to work and to support his recovery at home.
After the medical assessments were made known to the car driver's insurance company they paid for Mr. T to have handrails installed on the stairs at his home and provided him with ergonomic office furniture at his workplace.
With the help of Personal Injury Solicitor James Wormell, Mr. T received £250,000 compensation for his cycling accident injuries. With the rehabilitation support provided, he returned to work 18 months after the accident in a new role more suited to his physical abilities.
