Car Accident Injury Claim Awarded £263,000 Compensation

18 November 2015

Client Situation

Our client L. C. was a 20 year old university student when she was seriously injured as a passenger in car accident. She suffered a severe fracture to her femur, head injury and facial lacerations. She underwent a number of operations initially and was left with permanent bowleggedness.

How We Helped

Primary liability (fault) for the car accident was admitted by the other side however, the Solicitor for the other side alleged that L. C. was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. The Personal Injury Solicitor on the case obtained seatbelt evidence which disputed the allegation and the point was no longer pursued.

Medical evidence indicated that L. C. would need to have multiple knee replacement operations throughout her life which would ultimately reduce her mobility and potentially leave her in a wheelchair in her 60’s.

The Outcome

The car accident claim was settled out of Court with £263,000 compensation awarded to L. C. She made an excellent recovery from her injuries and was able to finish University and secured employment.
