While others were relaxing over the recent May bank holiday, staff from Co-op Legal Services in Bristol completed a gruelling overnight hike in aid of the Bristol branch of Headway, the brain injury charity. This local charity supports survivors of brain injury and their families so that they can live as independently as possible. For more information visit Headway Bristol.
The team, led by Senior Personal Injury Solicitor, Jason Harries, braved the wind and the rain to hike 37 miles along the Cotswold Way. The team set off at 11pm on Friday 25 May and arrived at their destination just over 16 hours later.
Tracey Moloney, Head of Family Law, was one of the team members. She said, "It was a long, and very tough night but the fact that we've been able to raise over £1,600 for such a worthy charity definitely made the challenge worthwhile."
This is the second year running that staff from Co-op Legal Services have supported the charity. Last year a team from Co-op Legal Services completed the Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for Headway.
In response to this fundraising effort, Clio Khan from Headway said, "The challenge [Co-op Legal Services] took on was tough, and giving up a bank holiday to support us demonstrates their dedication to the cause. We couldn't offer our vital services or reach as many families in crisis without the support of our phenomenal and dedicated supporters."
