Guide to Making a Will with a Co-op Will Writer
20 July 2018
Making a Will with Co-op Legal Services is straightforward and simple. With us, you can complete the entire process without needing to visit a Solicitor's office. Our expert Will writers can guide you through the process from start to finish, making sure that you have a legally valid Will that's tailored to you and your circumstances.
How to Make a Will with Co-op Legal Services
There are two ways in which you can start making a Will with us. The first option is to contact our Will writing team by calling 03306069591 or by requesting a call back. The second option is to start making your Will online.
Start Making a Will by Phone
When you contact us by phone, one of our Will writing advisors can discuss your circumstances, offer advice and guidance, explain how our service works, confirm what the cost will be and then arrange a telephone appointment with a Will writer at a time that's convenient for you. During the call we will recommend the type of Will that's right for you.
The types of Wills available include:
- Single Wills
- Mirror Wills
- Trust Wills
When you decide to proceed with our Will writing service then you'll receive confirmation of your appointment in writing, together with some useful information to consider in advance to help prepare for the appointment.
Your Will writer will then telephone you at the agreed time to discuss your wishes and take your instructions. During the telephone appointment the Will writer will ask you for details such as what assets you own, who you would like to name as your Beneficiaries (the people inheriting from you) and who you would like to appoint as your Executor (the person responsible for dealing with your Estate after you pass away).
Once you've provided this information and confirmed your wishes, your Will writer will then be in a position to draft a Will for you, which is perfectly tailored to your needs.
Start Making a Will Online
You can make the Will writing process even more straightforward with our online Will service. When you start making your Will online you will complete an online journey that helps gather important information about your wishes and also provides guidance on what to include and what the different legal terms mean. This service is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so you can complete this information at a time that suits you.
After you've finished providing us with your details, you will be asked to use our online booking system to arrange a follow up telephone appointment with one of our Will writers. They will go through the information you've provided, discuss your circumstances and wishes and resolve any queries or issues that you have before drafting your Will.
Finalising Your Will
Once your Will has been drafted, your Will writer will send a draft copy to you to review. You can check over the details and make any changes that are needed before returning this to us.
When you are completely happy with the contents of the Will, we will send the original copy to you to sign in the presence of two witnesses. We will enclose guidance on how to sign your Will and how to have this witnessed, so that you know exactly what to do.
When we receive your signed Will, we can then store this for you for free, for the rest of your life. We will also send you a copy for your own records.
How Much Does it Cost?
We offer fixed fee Will writing and Lasting Power of Attorney services. Once we have provided you with a written quote for the agreed work to be done, that price will not change.
Our fixed fee Wills start from:
- £90 for a Living Will
- £150 for a Standard Single Will
