Rachael has worked in Family Law since 2012 and regularly advises clients across England & Wales. Rachael also provides legal advice to couples at the beginning of a relationship, in the form of Prenuptial Agreements and Cohabitation Agreements.
Rachael is a member of Resolution, an organisation which aims to resolve conflict following separation, with a focus on maintaining what is in the best interests of any children involved. Rachael is fully aware of the difficulties that can occur when couple separate, especially where children are concerned. She ensures that each matter is sensitively handled, helping to minimise stress for her clients in what is often an upsetting a complex situation. Rachael can provide clients with advice as to each legal option available, and ensure they are fully aware of the outcome of any decision they make.
Rachael provides a high level of service which is tailored to each client’s own circumstances. She makes sure that each case is dealt with in the most cost effective way possible, and her aim is always to reach the best possible outcome for each client.
Rachael successfully represented a client in relation to a divorce financial matter. The client had been divorced for a period of nearly 30 years, and there had been a Consent Order relating to financial arrangements. However, the client and her husband had not implemented the Consent Order and there was a disagreement as to the wording of certain clauses. Rachael successfully negotiated with the ex-husband, and reached an agreement without the need to go to Court to enforce the Consent Order.
Rachael successfully represented a client in Children Act proceedings, where an application had been made for the child to spend time with him. The client had initially represented himself, but sought legal advice when Court proceedings became more complex, with allegations being raised by the ex-partner. Rachael engaged in negotiations with the other side, and provided representation for the client, which resulted in a Child Arrangements Order being made in his favour.
Rachael obtained a degree in History from the University of York, and then went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Law, and Legal Practice Course at BPP in Manchester.
Following completion of her post-graduate studies, Rachael began working at Farleys Solicitors LLP in Blackburn. She completed her training contract at the same firm, and qualified as a Solicitor in 2014.
Rachael then worked as a Family Solicitor for a small law firm in Burnley, before moving to Russell & Russell Solicitors in September 2015. Rachael joined Co-op Legal Services in January 2017.
