Start your divorce

Co-op Legal Services can support you with your divorce

Starting divorce proceedings yourself:

If you are starting divorce proceedings against your partner, our divorce solicitors can support you through the process.

For a fixed fee of £750, a divorce solicitor will take you through the steps of divorce, from starting divorce proceedings through to legally ending your marriage.

There will also be a fee charged by the courts of £593. This is a third party fee which will be payable regardless of the solicitor you choose to use.

The court fee will be payable upfront, along with our full fee.

These are the costs to legally end your marriage. There may be additional costs to resolve any matters to do with finances, assets or children.

Responding to a request for divorce:

If your partner has started divorce proceedings against you, our divorce solicitors can provide you with advice on responding to the divorce.

Our fixed fee divorce service for respondents starts from £400. There is no court fee to pay if you are the respondent.

This fee is payable upfront.

Whether you're worried about assets or children, or looking for a simple split we can discuss your options with you and support you through the process.

Call us now: 0330 606 9626

Our lines are open Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm

Our fixed fee divorce services are only available in England and Wales, when both spouses agree to the divorce. Contested divorce and additional services are available at a fixed hourly rate.

All our prices include VAT.

If you are on a low income, you may be eligible for help with court fees. For more information, visit GOV.uk.

Protecting your finances in divorce

We can also help you to resolve your marital finances and end any financial committments between you and your spouse. Getting a divorce doesn't automatically sever your financial ties with your ex, so you'll need to make sure this is covered.

We will also discuss with you the process for resolving any matters to do with finances, assets or children. This cost can vary dependent on the case and whether both people agree on how to divide the finances. We will always tell you the costs upfront, before any work begins.

Thank you for all you did to speed along my divorce. I'm really grateful and relieved! (Ms S., London)
