Michael Simpson is a Senior Employment Solicitor and the Head of Employment Law at Co-op Legal Services and is based in Bristol.

Michael has a wide range of experience of dealing with complex high value Employment Tribunal claims, Employment Appeal Tribunal, County Court and High Court including claims for Disability Discrimination, trade union victimisation, Discrimination at Work, TUPE, Bonus Disputes and Whistleblowing. Michael also specialises in Redundancy and Employment Settlement Agreements (called Compromise Agreements).

Career History

Michael studied at the College of Law, York. Qualified as a Solicitor 2001 at Bevan Brittan. Since then Michael has focused on working exclusively for employees as an Employment Law Team Manager at a large national trade union law firm from 2003 to 2007. He became Head of Employment Law at Co-op Legal Services in 2007.

Michael has a renowned ability to analyse complex employment law issues quickly. He has a good track record of resolving disputes before trial on the best possible terms for customers.

He has substantial experience of employment litigation and resolving workplace disputes. He provides expert, realistic and constructive legal advice on a wide range of employment issues with a view to resolving disputes quickly and cost effectively.

When Not Working

Michael enjoys competing in endurance sporting events and has completed the London Marathon and Ironman UK Triathlon. In his spare time Michael enjoys canal boating and long walks with his hyperactive Westie dog.
