Employment Tribunals in England and Wales
In some circumstances, it is inevitable that an employment dispute between an employee and an employer will end up in litigation at an Employment Tribunal.

Time Limits for Employment Tribunal Claims
Time limits apply to all employment tribunal claims so it is imperative to contact our Employment Law Solicitors as soon as possible. Failure to present a claim within the relevant time limit puts the claim outside the Employment Tribunal's jurisdiction, which means that the tribunal cannot hear the claim unless there are grounds to grant an extension to the normal time limit.
Employment Tribunal Fees
In addition to our fixed fee, the following fees apply in employment tribunal claims:
- Issue fee, paid when a claim is presented to an employment tribunal
- Hearing fee, paid on a specified notice accompanying the notification of the listing of a final hearing of the claim
- Application fee, where a party makes certain applications
- Judicial mediation fee (payable by the employer), where the parties agree to attend a judicial mediation to try to resolve the dispute.
The amount of the fees depends upon the type of claim and how many claimants are involved in the claim. We will include the relevant Employment Tribunal fees in our fixed fee quote.
